5th Expert Meeting

Packaging Printing - resistant & recyclable

5th  december 2019

On November 29, Ariane Kis explained how sustainable, smart packaging design in the C2C cycle can bring us all a step into a beautiful and clean future.

Her lecture was about sustainable but meaningful packaging design and its criteria from idea development to production. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute

from a designer's perspective to the topic "Packaging printing - durable and recyclable" and motivate other participants to take a step towards the printing revolution.

We look forward to next year, to more exciting lectures and a lively exchange of information.

14th march 2019

Also this year we are represented with our agency on the Biofach 2019 in Nuremberg. In February we presented our new visions together with Tilisco.

This year as well, we are participating with our agency on the Biofach 2019 in Nuremberg. In February we present our new visions together with Tilisco.

In our presentation "Packaging design in the cradle-to-cradle cycle - Design in the sense of a clean future" we introduce an innovative design concept,

as well as new color strategies to improve recycling and avoidance of plastic.

„Bio“ is now much more than a seal or a certification. Bio has gained a standing in society and is associated with quality, conviction and responsible handling of our environment. Organic products are no longer restricted to the organic market. The big retail chains and discounters also increased their regional and organic products, which has further raised awareness and acceptance in the population.

In addition, almost all products can be easily obtained in organic quality. The range includes burger with fries as well as lemonade and frozen pizza.

Old grains such as amaranth and quinoa are being rediscovered and existing Foods are being redeveloped with other ingredients such as

e.g. Pasta made from lentils and other legumes.

There is quite the Progression in the so-called "Free From" trend. More than just a current trend category, this movement has, over the last few years,

developed from a niche to a conventional diet. In addition to a general increased health awareness.

The number of consumers who consciously choose to forego certain ingredients is increasing.

As a result, manufacturers and producers of organic products are increasingly focusing on transparency in addition to regionality.

This gives consumers the opportunity to find out more about the origin, as well as the manufacturing and content of the products.

"We are positively surprised by the Responses to our presentation.

It's nice to know that we're not the only ones who finally want to change things!"

Cooperation between Designkis and Tilisco

2016 starts for us with a small to medium size bounce. Not because we want to set ourselves apart – nevertheless we are conquering new spheres.

We are happy about a trendsetting cooperation which perhaps has existed never before in this form: The independent packaging consultancy TILISCO completes our performances as agency for packaging design, specializing in sustainable and environmentally acceptableCo brand design. From now on we also screen all technical and technological aspects of your packaging production.

As an absolute packaging expert Till Isensee plays a central role in our team. He is your highly qualified contact person when it comes to regognizing potentials and to highlight differentiation possibilities on the way to a joint BIO packaging strategy. A huge opportunity for small and medium sized enterprises. With this new technical expertise completely new perspectives open up especially for medium sized enterprises who do not operate their own packaging development devision and who are moving more likely in a small and medium range of quantities. Together we help you to implement “green” plans step by step with a realistic marketing strategy.

Work with us to further develop the idea behind your products and adapt it to all segments of your brand. We initiate a modern, sustainable design and brand strategy for you which will be focused on your needs and technical possibilities. For a long-term implementation of a BIO packaging strategy it is absolutely necessary to design the packaging as inexpensive as possible in order to know the additional costs financed. Technical knowhow from the beginning. Since even at this stage of the conception and design phase the basis for later packaging costs is laid, it is important to integrate early packaging expertise. We consider the respective advantages and disadvantages of the development with special focus on the individual technical and technological implementability because hereby costs can be reduced. Here we do not necessarily have to develop a fundamentally new packaging but we make use of category specific packaging standards, established on the market. Using the example of numerous crispbread packagings on the market it becomes clear: Here you can find folded boxes with viewing window, folded boxes with bag and viewing window, transparent bags with clip and adhesive label, paper bag with banderole, sealed edge bag with integrated bag – to name but a few. The focus here must be to select the specific optimum of all design and packaging aspects. Who decides solely about the appearance is often confronted with significant extra costs. In each development stage we consider all cost-relevant aspects, such as number of colours, level of refinement, choice of material, positioning of embossed imprints and many more items – without reducing the overall visual impression.

The importance of integral, extensive solutions in the packaging sector is growing. At that we put a particular value to integrated packaging developments who beside the functional requirements also fulfil modern sustainability aspects.

Are you curious now? Talk to us – with us you professionalize the progress on the way to your sustainable BIO-packaging design.

HAMBURG CLEANS UP!

OUR PEARL SHOULD STAY CLEAN

20th march 2016

Every beautiful city has its unintentionally grubby corners. Unfortunately also our beloved Hamburg. Since we are very concerned about the city and the environment, we would like to take part in the action "Hamburg clears up" next year. The largest city cleaning campaign in Germany takes place every spring and, as in recent years, is a partner of the international campaign "Clean up the world" and the North German initiative "The North cleans up".

Teams of all ages can participate and win some great prizes. In the coming year, the Hamburg City Cleaners Department, the Department of the Environment and Energy, will call on Hamburg citizens to form cleanup teams with family, friends or colleagues and to liberate the city's self-selected public space from surrounding waste in a concerted action.

We will help to make our pearl shine again! Join us!

BIOFACHMESSE 2016

17th february 2016

From 10 to 13 February, more than 2500 exhibitors from all over the world presented trends and special features from the world of organic food at BIOFACH 2016.

Organic has become much more than a seal or a certification. Organic has arrived in society and stands for quality, conviction and responsible treatment of our environment. Organic products are no longer limited to the organic market. The large retail chains and discounters are also increasingly focusing on regional and organic products, which has further increased awareness and acceptance among the population.

In addition, almost all products can easily be obtained in organic quality. The range extends from burgers with chips and lemonade to frozen pizzas. Old grain varieties such as amaranth and quinoa are being rediscovered and existing ones are being redeveloped with other ingredients such as pasta made from lentils and other legumes.

A big development is the so-called "Free From" trend. More than just a current trend category, this movement has developed over the last few years from a niche to a self-evident form of nutrition. In addition to a general increase in health awareness, the number of consumers who consciously decide to do without certain ingredients is increasing.

As a result, manufacturers and producers of organic products are increasingly focusing on transparency in addition to regionality. This gives consumers the opportunity to obtain precise information about the origin as well as the processing and content of the products.

We were at the fair and were inspired by great and interesting innovations.

There were also real eye-catchers in terms of design:
